Impact of the Child-optimized Financial Education (COFE) curriculum among savings group participants in Uganda: A cluster randomised controlled trial

This article reports on a post-test only cluster randomized controlled trial that assessed the impact of exposure to Child-Optimized Financial Education (COFE) curriculum, delivered within Savings and Lending Communities (SILC) in Uganda, caregivers’ spending school healthcare expenses for children, financial self-efficacy. Participation SILCs with COFE was significantly associated caregivers paying children’s required compared who were not exposed COFE. Other outcomes influenced by Child-centered household-level planning saving may support educational needs Ugandan children potentially Uganda’s national-level education targets.
